Run the whole project from inside the job card.
A flat checklist becomes a project board.
Lists, statuses, dependencies, dates, time, materials and files on every task, with a Timeline and Calendar to see the plan. Big jobs split into child jobs that roll up to one board. Tasks stay native ServiceM8 checklist items, so the crew keeps ticking them in the app.
Five views. One checklist.
Board, Table, Timeline, Calendar, Map
Kanban columns for the day-to-day. A Table for bulk edits. A Timeline with dependency arrows and the longest chain. A Calendar by month, week or day. A Map that draws a multi-job project as a mind map.
Statuses you define
In Progress, Up Next, On hold, whatever fits your work. Task statuses belong to the add-on, not to ServiceM8's job status list, so a checklist can say things a job status can't. Reminders, assignment, starring and watching on every task.
A plan, not just a list
Give a task a start, an end, a duration and an effort. Say what it waits on. When a date moves, the cascade proposes new dates for everything downstream, pulls work forward when a blocker finishes early, and respects the working week and staff availability.
Time, materials and money on the task
Record time against a task and bill it. Add materials to a task and post them to the job in one click. Per-task and whole-project financial summaries show billed against unbilled, so the money matches the work.
Files where the work is
Attach files to a task, from the device or from what's already on the job card. Mark a file restricted so only the right staff can open it.
Multi-job projects
Mark a job as a project. Turn a list into its own child job, which carries the parent's number and contacts. The parent board shows every child's tasks, time and money in one place, and the dashboard shows nested progress.
Templates that carry the plan
Save any board as a template. Templates hold lists, tasks, durations, effort and dependencies (never dates), so a new job gets a scheduled plan from the day you apply it. Two built-in templates get you started.
Built for teams
Colleagues' changes reach your board within about 30 seconds, and the board says who changed what. A Needs attention panel flags overdue and blocked work. Share a read-only snapshot with a client, Timeline and Calendar included. Per-staff access, read-only boards and hidden financials for anyone who shouldn't see them.
Every project on one page.
The Project Summary dashboard lists every project with its progress, overdue count and risk. Sort by risk, progress or customer; filter to at-risk only, hide finished, or parents only; open any board in a click. Who did what goes into the job diary, so the audit trail is where ServiceM8 users already look for it.
Inside the add-on.
Read before you plan.
Four short reads on the ideas behind the add-on. Ten minutes, start to finish.

Board or Timeline: which one for this project?

Project Checklist is running on real jobs with a small group of ServiceM8 businesses. It isn't in the ServiceM8 Add-on Store yet. Try the interactive demo now, on a sample job. Then join the waiting list and we'll let you know when a spot opens up, and again when it goes on public release.
A few things to be aware of.
Honest disclosure of the technical caveats. Mostly common-sense, worth flagging up front.
Runs in the Online Dispatch Board
The board opens from the job card in the Online Dispatch Board (the web app). Field staff don't need the board: tasks are ordinary ServiceM8 checklist items, so they see and tick them in the ServiceM8 app as usual, and the board picks that up within about 30 seconds.
Your tasks stay in ServiceM8
Nothing leaves ServiceM8. Tasks are native job checklist items. The board's extra data (statuses, plans, materials, links, order) is kept in ServiceM8's own add-on storage for that job, private to this add-on. Uninstall and your checklist items are still on the job.
It asks for broad permissions
The add-on writes checklists, notes, materials, attachments, bookings and contacts, so its permission list is long. It only touches the jobs you open a board on, plus a few account-wide settings notes it keeps for templates and preferences.
Upgrading from an older version
Accounts on the earlier release (v0.6, the Checklist Kanban era) were upgraded in place in August 2026. Each job migrates the first time its board is opened. The old notes are kept read-only, so nothing is lost and support can roll a job back if ever needed.
Works with Job Time Entry
Time recorded on a task is written as a job note in a format Job Time Entry (4.2 and later) understands, so project time can also be logged from Job Time Entry and shows up against the right task on the board.
