What it does

Staff manage their own time entries.

Built for the moments admin used to clean up at end of day: the missed check-in, the late check-out, the forgotten booking.

Self-service for staff

Anyone on the team can add, edit, or remove their own time entries directly. The office stops being the bottleneck for fixing what was missed.

Works where you work

iPhone or the Online Dispatch Board. See the full job details without switching back to ServiceM8. Network Request tasks from received jobs are supported.

Quick time input

Base your entry on when the job started or when it finished. Quick-set buttons for common durations. Review your full check-in history without trawling job notes.

Catches what you missed

See every previously-missed check-in and booking in one place, so nothing slips off the invoice quietly.

With checklists

Each job card becomes a mini project.

Tick off "To do" tasks as you go, change them back to uncompleted if needed, and optionally push completed tasks straight into the Billing description / Work Completed field. Old-style hyphenated checklists are supported alongside the current ones.

Worth knowing

A few things to be aware of.

Honest disclosure of where the add-on doesn't reach. If any of these are deal-breakers for your workflow, better to know up front.

Internet connection required

Job Time Entry needs an active internet connection to load and save. It doesn't have an offline mode; if you're working in a no-signal location, time entries can't be added until you're back on signal.

No travel time / distance tracking

The add-on records on-job time entries, not separate travel time or distance. If you need travel-leg tracking, that lives outside Job Time Entry.

Uses default staff labour rates

Time entries pick up the staff member's default labour rate; the add-on doesn't currently let you attribute specific labour material rates per entry. For most teams that's fine; for variable-rate setups, edit the entry inside ServiceM8 after the fact.

Checklist support is "To do" tasks only

The checklist-mode bonus supports the standard "To do" task type. Photos, Forms, Assets, and Documents tasks aren't toggled from inside Job Time Entry; tick those off where they live in ServiceM8 directly. Network Request "To do" tasks are supported, but completed Network tasks can't be reverted to uncompleted.

No Android Lite app support yet

Third-party add-ons aren't available inside the ServiceM8 Lite app for Android. iPhone and the Online Dispatch Board cover most field-staff scenarios; Android Lite users won't see the add-on until ServiceM8 enables add-on access on that platform.
